On March 1, 2023, Kaslo infoNet Society will be adjusting our packages and rates, for both our Fixed Wireless and Fibre Optic customers. Static IP and Residential VOIP rates will also be changing at this time. We know that no one likes price increases, and we’re no different. Unfortunately, due to economic forces beyond our control, we have had to make the tough decision to raise our prices. We hope you understand and continue to support us. We will continue to offer discounted service to eligible* low-income customers.
As always, our service is available month-to-month, with no contracts or gimmicks. In an effort to be even more transparent about costs, our prices are now tax inclusive. This might make the listed price increase seem more severe than it is, but the price you see is now the price you pay — no tricks!
Starting in March, our Residential VOIP and Static IP costs will increase to $30.00 ($26.80 before tax). Please contact support@kin.bc.ca if you are unsure if you continue to require a static IP address.
Our Fibre Optic Internet packages will be simplified, with the removal of the distinction between Business and Residential packages.
Effective March 1st, all Fibre Internet plans will be automatically upgraded as following:
Package Name | Suitable for: | Cost (including tax) |
Fibre 25 (formerly Fibre 20) 25Mbps symmetrical Internet. |
Basic internet usage such as web browsing, checking email, and streaming standard definition video on one device at a time. It may not be sufficient for high-demand activities like streaming HD video on multiple devices, or online gaming with other active network users. |
$75.00 |
Fibre 75 (formerly Fibre 65) 75Mbps symmetrical Internet |
Moderate to heavy internet usage on multiple devices, including online gaming, streaming high definition video, and participating in video calls. It can support multiple users doing different tasks simultaneously, such as browsing the web and streaming music. | $110.00 |
Fibre 150 (formerly Fibre 125) 150Mbps symmetrical Internet |
Heavy internet usage on multiple devices, including streaming 4K video, participating in video conferences, and online gaming. It could also support multiple users doing high-demand activities at the same time, such as streaming video and gaming. | $140.00 |
Fibre 300 (formerly Fibre 250) 300Mbps symmetrical Internet |
Very heavy internet usage on multiple devices, including streaming 4K video on multiple devices simultaneously, participating in high-quality video conferences, and online gaming with minimal latency. It will support multiple users doing demanding tasks at the same time, such as streaming video, gaming, and transferring large files. | $165.00 |
Fibre 1000 (formerly Fibre 400) Up to 1000Mbps symmetrical Internet, this is the best connection we can currently provide. |
Extreme internet usage on multiple devices, including streaming 4K video on multiple devices simultaneously at the highest quality, participating in high-quality video conferences with multiple participants, and online gaming with very low latency. An individual device may struggle to see these speeds due to network or technical bottlenecks, but this connection will support many users doing demanding tasks at the same time, such as streaming video, gaming, and transferring large files, with negligible impact on performance. You probably don’t need this. Most of the internet won’t support these speeds. |
$200.00 |
Technology and physical limitations prevent us from offering similar performance increases for our Wireless subscribers, so we have held off on changing our prices since 2018. However, the increased costs of servicing our Wireless towers requires us to adjust these prices, as well.
We are actively planning the build-out of our Fibre network to virtually all of our Wireless subscribers, and will have more news on our plans and timelines by June, 2023.
