UPDATE: All services restored as of late afternoon Friday Oct. 20
* Huge thanks to our President Don Scarlett for working long days in the rain, 3 days in a row, to reconstruct the tower. Don is a tireless volunteer and we are grateful to have him on our Board.
* Thanks also go to East Shore Internet Society, who provided technicians and climbers, and loaned us some of their spare equipment.
KiN’s tower on Mount Kaslo was seriously damaged in the windstorm yesterday.
We have a crew on-site making repairs, but at this time we have no ETA yet on when service will be restored for affected clients.
This is a key piece of infrastructure. The following sites connect through this one:
– Johnsons Landing
– Jardine tower
– Schroeder Creek
Many wireless clients in Kaslo, Shutty Bench and Mirror Lake connect directly to this tower and will be offline until we can make repairs.
Fibre clients may experience some slower than normal speeds until this is resolved.
We apologize for the inconvenience this service interruption causes.
This is a remote site and we are working to restore functionality as soon as possible.
