We’re delighted to share some exciting news with you. KiN has secured additional funding from the Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation (CBBC) for the continuing expansion and upgrades of our services for the next three years.
What does this mean for you?
For our wireless customers from Howser to Ainslo Road, it means increased bandwidth and speed. New service plans will be announced soon. In the meantime, we’re phasing out our old radios. Subscribers that still have them will need to upgrade to take advantage of our new offerings. The new radios don’t have to be purchased — the monthly rental fee is $5. In addition, there’s a one-time installation fee of $100 that will be collected as we’ll need to do a complete re-install, involving new, modern technology and cable. The sooner you upgrade, the sooner you can access better quality service and faster internet!
If you live in Upper Kaslo, fibre is on its way! We plan to start laying fibre optic cable throughout Upper Kaslo over the course of the summer. Early sign-ups will get free hook-ups, a significant savings of up to $500! Residents of Ainsworth, Fletcher Falls area (including the Frontage Rd., Thompson Rd., Twin Bays Rd., and Loki Lease Lots), Mirror Lake, Pineridge, Schroeder Creek and Lardeau and our friends & neighbours living in other parts of Kaslo, don’t despair, fibre should reach you within two or three years. We’re working hard to get to you as soon as possible. We’ll keep you posted.
On a practical note, don’t forget that you can monitor your bandwidth usage very easily, by accessing http://kin.bc.ca/my-bandwidth/ from your home computer.
