NEW OPERATIONS MANAGER NAMED FOR LOCAL NON-PROFIT HIGH-SPEED INTERNET PROVIDER

KASLO  --  The Kaslo infoNet Society (KiN) board is pleased to announce Rob McLennan as Operations Manager for its high-speed internet service, effective immediately.

Rob is well-qualified to meet the many challenges the newly-created position. Rob’s background with computers as well as his extensive business background and excellent communications skills will stand him in good stead.

Rob moved to Shutty Bench in 2006 to pursue an active semi-retirement just as KiN was embarking on grants to allow it to launch wireless high-speed internet service.

“We are excited to have someone of Rob’s calibre motivated and available to fill this position,” said Tyler Dobie, KiN Chairman.

Rob will work with the volunteers who continue to devote many hours to bringing high-speed internet service to the Meadow Creek area.

Technical testing is currently underway prior to full service launch in the Meadow Creek area. For more information on the service or to sign up, call Rob at 353-1KiN.

Today KiN members are focused on bringing the benefits of high speed Internet to North Kootenay Lake communities in order to overcome the urban/rural digital divide.
