MEADOW CREEK RESIDENTS CAN
ORDER HIGH-SPEED INTERNET SERVICE FROM KIN
Meadow Creek area residents can sign up to receive
wireless high-speed internet service from Kaslo InfoNet Society (KiN) on
Wednesday September 13 at KiN will also celebrate its 10th anniversary in October. “Our mandate since the beginning has been to create a community access network in the Kaslo area, so launching the first leg of our high-speed internet service is a fitting celebration.” says current KiN Chairman, Tyler Dobie. The most recent project milestone is the installation of the communications tower at Lardeau Valley Community Hall.
A huge thank you goes out to the small corp
of dedicated volunteers who have invested hundreds of volunteer hours in
bringing high-speed internet service to Meadow Creek residents. Subsequent
service areas include Woodbury to Schroeder Creek,
Kaslo infoNet is a non-profit society founded in 1996
with a mandate to create a community access network in the Kaslo area.
Successes to date include: Establishing free Community Access Program (CAP)
sites at the Kaslo Library and J.V. Humphries School; creating summer
employment for many students and youths to enable them to gain valuable
experience in the high-growth information technology (IT) industry; launching www.Kaslo.org as a community portal for the
Kaslo area; and providing web-hosting services to non-profit societies. Today
KiN members are focused on bringing the benefits of high speed Internet to
